‘The Piranhas’ – by the sonny
Note: You know what it is to write just for the sake of writing? THIS!
The little piranhas just go snap,
At the sight of a prey in lap.
In just three minutes flat,
The little piranhas go snap, snap snap.
If you dip your finger in a lake full of piranhas
Your finger’s flesh just hang out right.
The only fear the piranhas really have,
Are that of blue whales which swallow their like.
I wouldn’t like to dip my hand,
In a bucket full of those snappy-snappers.
If you would like to dip yours in a bucket of piranhas
Just contact me flat, flat, flat..
- By Vyas
——————————————————–
He has to end it like that- By Vyas and all that! And what he would do if anyone contacts him, am sure even he has no clue!
PS: He tells me that the English teacher had asked them all to write a poem. So, he chose to write about Piranhas of all things!

Thank you for the link about Pirhans for dumb souls like me had no clue it is just another fish
I liked the true to fact and heart-felt expression of all Vyas felt at the thought of a snapper so wonderfully in this poem.
Excellent work Vyas
Even I didn’t know what they were… So I quietly checked the web and acted as if I knew:) cheap, that’s me:-)
Sounds very Dr. Seuss ! Or even Ogden Nash..
The boy is GOOD.
Lax, idhu over
Awesome awesome awesome!! what a super poem *Bows to Vyas guru*
Pssss Vidya – Between you and me, I am so so glad that I already booked Vyas as my future son in law..imagine how talented my grand kids are going to be heheheh
now I know why good guys go missing when the time comes….they are booked THIS early in life…hmm..
Umm…my daughter lives in the same city as the V family. So perhaps I can throw in an application as well?
Sorry babes…the deal was sealed about 6 months ago when I went n meet half of the V Family
Yo ladies, the boy is all set to clad a khadi kurta and a jholna bag with a book or two in it, with big soda-bottle glass (the glass is already there, though no soda buddi), and hawai chappal.. I’m dreading how I’d hunt for a bride who can whack some sense into the fellow.. I have hopes after all.. what with offers from Science families.. I promise to be a good mil.. I have two boys you see:)) For Varun, i’m going to demand a hefty dowry- and that will be the BLUE JEANS;-)
I luvvv the ending
!
And now some GK: I saw an episode on discovery that showed kids swimming in a river full of piranhas. There were some women cleaning up some fish (for cooking) and the piranhas were only after the remains thrown into the water by the women. They did not attack the humans swimming in water.
BTW am going to call him flat flat flat
… pls ask him to keep the bucket full of piranhas ready
Will put two in a room and you can talk about piranhas all day!
I just had a look at the “Piramhas” and re read the poem and went Arggghh!! Only boys can write soemthing like this
Seriously! only a boy’s mom understands another boy’s:|
WOW!!!..you’re raising a budding poet. Way to go Vyas!
Of course! Why else will he say flat flat flat?!
I dint have any idea about what ‘ piranhas’ is and this little man made such a cute poem out of it.
Way to go Vyas
Haha. What does contact me flat flat flat mean?!!

Vidya: “Yo ladies, the boy is all set to clad a khadi kurta and a jholna bag..” We haven’t met yet…but minus the glasses, THAT’s how our family is (and the science works too…)! So, there’s always hope !
Yaay!
Do teachers ask to write poems? Seriously? Do all his classmates write their own poems?
[I am going to get a soda and keep near me...I am going to faint...If you reply "Yes"..someone near me can sprinkle some soda and get me up]
Don’t faint yet.. Yes, the kids do… At least they all attempt and write something that pass off as a poem.. They are not graded based on that though.. A fun, lab activity:)
Yo ladies, the boy is all set to clad a khadi kurta and a jholna bag with a book or two in it, with big soda-bottle glass (the glass is already there, though no soda buddi), and hawai chappal – Errr…we love people with khadi kurtas and jholna bags. R would b interested to know if he carries any food in the jholna bag and if she can try out his soda bottle kanadis
…and of course just for additional reinforcement of the family ties, please note that R is following her BIL’s footsteps of the blue jeans! Its a post in itself..someday I will write!!
so I guess, jodi jamegi
Yaay! to you too:) Both are foodies anyway:) Blue jeans????? Sigh!!!!
Ah ! This HAS to be the most wonderful mommy blog I ve read !
Landed here yesterday from I-don-remember-where and have been lapping up post after post since then. Vyas and Varun are the cutest !
Loved reading their tales, and will keep coming back for more!
Thank you so much and nice of you to leave a comment:) Dunno abt the boys being cute and all that, but are thorough blog materials and provide a lot of entertainment:)
Super…just love it…and why not Piranhas…those poor souls don’t have any poems on them …till now…
ha ha! i wish the piranhas appreciate the gesture and don’t go snap, snap, snap:)
a horse and its rider can be eaten by piranhas in a small pond in seven minutes – this is the only thing i know about piranhas and i read it from the landmark carry bag. this boy knows too much.
how did his exams go?
someone else also mentioned abt the landmark cover carrying this info:) right now, he is neck deep into HP world and will score an ace if the questions were from that.. exams are still on, but we’ll answer only from HP:) the rest is out of syllabus!
which book is he reading now?
Deathly Hallows, almost nearing the end:)
